INTRODUCTION
1.1 1.1 BACKGROUND
Many people can not definition the monopoly market. The
monopoly activity. The monopoly activity sometimes can we meet in a country.
There is used the monopoly activity in a market. That activity is affect to the
economy in a country. So, before we talk more about monopoly activity, we must
analyze it.
With this paper, hopefully we can know the definition and
characteristic of monopoly market. We can know to about market system in our
country. Except that, we can know the advantages and the weaknesses of monopoly
market.

TEORITICAL BACKGROUND
2.1
ECONOMICS
Economics is the
science of making decision in the presence of scarce resources. Resources are
simply anything used to produce a good or service or more generally to achieve
a goal. Decisions are important because scarcity implies that by making one
choice, you give up another. A computer firm that spends more resources on
advertising has fewer resources to invest in research and development. A food
bank that spends more in soup has less to spend on fruit. Economic decisions
thus involve the allocation of scarce resources and a manager’s task is to
allocate resources so as to best meet the manager’s goals.
One of the best
ways to comprehend the pervasive nature of scarcity is to imagine that a genie
has appeard and offered to grant you three wishes. If resources were not scare,
you would tell the genie you have absolutely nothing to wish for you already
have everything you want. Surely, as you begin this course, you recognize that
time is one of the scarcest resources of all. Your primary decision problem is
to allocate a scarce the time resource to achieve a goal such as mastering the
subject mater or earning an A in the course.
2.2
MICROECONOMICS
Microeconomics is
the science of economics which is analyze about the small parts of the all
economic activities. The first aspect that the microeconomics talk is about the
activity of market goods. Market is a institution which is make the seller and
buyer a good are meet.
The other analyze
is the interaction of seller and buyer in market of production factors.
Individu in economic is the owner of production factor to get the income. Then
the income is used to buy the goods that they needs and the seller needs
production factors to produce the goods and services. That interaction is
determine the price of production factor and the total production factor.

MONOPOLY
2.3.1 DEFINITION OF MONOPOLY
Monopoly is the
type of market that only one company and produce the goods that no subtittes
goods simillar.
2.3.2 CHARACTERISTIC OF MONOPOLY
1. Monopoly market is a industri one company
The buyer can buy the goods or
service only in the company that produce the goods.
2. No subtitutes goods simillar
No substitutes goods simillar, but
just the subtitutes goods that different characters.
3. No posibility to enter into the industrial world
This is the first reason which is made the company have themonopoly
authority.
4. Can affect the price determine
Causes the monopoly company is
the one of seller in market, so the price is determine by company
5. The advertise promotion is less needed
The company not make a
advertising or promotion, cause the buyer force to buy the product, if there is
an advertising, it is not to promotion, but to keep the goods relation with
society.
2.3.3 FACTOR THAT CAUSED MONOPOLY
1. Have the unique resource
The example is “the gold
voice”, a singer have the best ability in singing, and if there any people have
the good voice, it will not same with him.
2. Can usefull the economic scale
Nowdays, the efficient
production only can be able to do if the total production is higher, in this
condition, the company will usefull the maximum economic scale if the total of
level production is higher. When the cost of production is minimun, the total
production is same with the demand of market. So, company, can decrease the
price if the production more higher. In the higher level production, price is
so low, and the new company can not survive. The industry which is the economic
scale like that is Natural Monopoly. The example like water company, electrcity
company, telepohne company, and train company.
3. Monopoly authority from the government rules

Patent or Copy Rights
If there is no rules to copy,
so the company have no benefit to produce the new goods that more better. Copy
Rights is alaw guarantee to avoid the copying.
b.
Ekseclusive Rights business
Without ekseclusive rights as a
monopoly company, it wil appears the obstacle to usefull the economic scale
with maximum. Execlusive Rights guarantee the single company is market is not
guarantee that the price is determine in the lower level.
2.3.4 WEAKNESSESES AND ADVANTAGES
The
Advantages of Monopoly Market
a. The profit of seller is high.
b. To product which is authority the other life, is rule by
government. The advantages for consumen cause the seller can not determine the
price by herself.
The
Weaknesses of Monopoly Market
a.
The buyer don’t have the other option to buy the goods.
b.
The profit just centre on one company.
c.
Buyer exploitation is happen.

3.1 Conclusion
Monopoly market is
a place where just one company. And this company produce the goods where the
goods is don’t have subtitutes simillar good. The characteristic is can not be
able to enter into the industrial, can affect on determine the price, and the
promotions is not to needs.
Factors that caused
monopoly is the company which is have the unique resource and another company
don’t have it. The monopoly company can usefull the economic scale.
